Share culture, because if you keep it hidden, it goes to waste.

When was the last time you shared something? The post “5 ways to succeed in the world of marketing” or the updated client brief do not count as an answer.

When was the last time you shared something that is important to you, that you love, or even a moment or experience that could enhance your relationship with one or more people?

Do you remember when you were a child and the bell rang for recess? Suddenly, the classroom would fill with buzzing voices, the sound of zippers opening, and little hands rummaging through backpacks to pull out snack bags. The air was filled with the smell of chocolate snacks, ham sandwiches, cookies, and crispy biscuits. However, there was always someone who never took anything out, either because they often forgot or because they simply didn’t have the habit, so we would share our snacks in the corridors, in the garden, or next to the radiator, between one chat and another. A little piece for each of us, all together, as we tried to make the most of those minutes that always seemed to last only a few moments.

And what about the later years of school? How many Latin translations passed under the desk and how many lecture notes saved you from having to retake the exam or admit that you didn’t care about Cicero at all, risking yet another failing grade?

Sharing is an act of kindness towards others and towards the community; sharing joys, successes, and things that make us laugh multiplies this happiness and makes it spread. Alone, we get nowhere, but by sharing experiences, knowledge, snacks, and curiosities, we are all part of something that cannot be broken.

Of course, when you read the word “sharing,” you probably think of an icon of an arrow or a paper airplane pointing to the right, rather than a physical action, right? Social media has changed many of our mental associations. But we’ll talk more about that in another article, which you can find here. In this article, we want to tell you about how sharing can take place within a company, and how it can make it a more structured, stronger, and more cohesive organization, where individuals understand each other’s work, increasing mutual respect and teamwork. After all, in a world where communication is increasingly digital and distant, we often find ourselves reflecting on the value of sharing and vulnerability in our daily interactions, and there are times when fear of judgment or lack of understanding keeps us closed in our shell, but it is precisely in these moments that sharing becomes an act of courage.

Goodmorning

How many times have you opened your computer and immediately been bombarded with emails popping up on the side of your screen? Or how many times have you set foot in the office, and before you’ve even had time to hang up your jacket, your boss has already broken the silence to give you an update or a task to do right away?

It may seem illogical, but starting the workday by working and immediately bombarding our newly awakened brains with problems and tasks is a stress that even the best coffee cannot help us endure.

At DUAL, we decided to start our days with “Goodmorning”: a daily appointment lasting just under 30 minutes where anyone who wants to can connect via video call to participate in training sessions, presentations related to news from the world of digital, branding, or events, or to take stock of the week, both professionally and personally. It’s a moment of tuning in, to start with something that stimulates creativity and curiosity. Yes, because Goodmorning is all about sharing snippets of personal knowledge, curiosities, and anything else that might be of interest to everyone. And so, training sessions are created on how to read and create a meme, what a landing page is, how to get to know yourself better through therapeutic writing, or the latest news in the field of neuromarketing and emotional intelligence.

Then, of course, it’s time for coffee, and suddenly emails don’t seem so stressful anymore.

We share project

At a certain point, however, we realized that Goodmorning wasn’t enough. We wanted to know more, find out what the various divisions were working on, what exciting projects they had completed, and what their experience had been like at the last retreat with customers.

This led to the creation of the “We share project,” a monthly event lasting about 30 minutes that replaces Goodmorning on that day, but is entirely dedicated to sharing a project. A recently completed case study explained and recounted by the people who oversaw every aspect of it.

We listened to the head of the branding department explain the reasoning and research behind the creation of a stand area for a client during a trade fair, and how the events department organized a business retreat in Athens, successfully combining ancient Greek culture, digital platforms, and local merchants.

Eating lunch together

Meals are something unique, rich in meaning. In Italy, as well as in Spain, Greece, and all those places that have given food a function beyond being a source of nutrients, eating together is a moment of enormous sharing. Remember the snacks at the beginning of the article, right? Well, try adding to that a nice chat about the latest training courses you’ve attended.

Within a team, everyone has their own specialization, and as a result, everyone tends to attend training courses and refresher meetings on specific topics. But culture is a delicious snack, and it should always be shared, without worrying too much about portions.

This is how shared lunches came about, where each team eats together while talking about what they have studied and learned.

Goodmorning, We Share Project, and eating together: on each of these occasions, sharing is supported by a professional facilitator who is part of the DUAL team. Their role is to encourage participation, manage conflicts, keep to the schedule, and maintain focus on the meeting’s objectives. They must facilitate communication and foster an environment where, by balancing the contributions of each participant, collaboration is created and an inclusive and energetic flow is maintained.

Sharing is not only an act of kindness, but also of caring for others, resilience in the face of difficulties, and mutual affection. Each of these meetings serves not only to share successes, but also to share vulnerabilities, often seen as a sign of weakness, but which are actually a sign of authenticity and trust in human relationships. Being willing to open your heart and share your experiences, both positive and negative, within a team can strengthen bonds and create a more inclusive and empathetic work environment.

To learn how to share and get to know yourself and the people around you better, Conversaction is the training course for you and your team. A training course dedicated to communication, focused on understanding your own conversation management style and that of others, with mutual strengths and areas for improvement.
